The MENA-IUG, a regional IUG, was formed in 2006 as the GCC IUG. The addition of the American University of Cairo prompted the organization to change its name in 2007. Like the IUG itself, the GCC IUG is independent of Innovative Interfaces Inc. The group consists of libraries from nations within the nations of the Middle East and North Africa that use Innovative Interfaces Inc software.
